Helical Piles Install into Most Types of Soil - Why Helical Piles are so Versatile

GOLIATHTECH UNIVERSITY: TUTORIAL 7

Helical piles have been around for almost 200 years and have supported travel via roads, rails and bridges, as well as assisted human advancements, such as telecommunications. Some lighthouses that used helical piles two centuries ago are still standing today. This is a testament to the strength and durability of this ground anchoring system.

This undisruptive, cost-effective and practical foundational machinery is equally useful for commercial enterprises, such as agricultural tents and wind turbines, or for residential applications, such as sheds and swimming pools. Check out the applications page of our website to view our range of projects.

REASONS SCREW PILES ARE SO VERSATILE

Helical piles are often a first choice for builders and construction project planners as they install quickly with no excavation required. GoliathTech offers anchoring solutions to support the heaviest loads, soil types and environmental stressors. Visit our helical piles page to learn more about our superior quality piles.

You can install helical piles with less-than-optimal soil conditions: if you have nearby structures with limited excavation depth; if you’re building on a slope or uneven ground; you require a structure to be built quickly or; you may need to move your structure at a later date (e.g., agricultural tent). Also, if you have a property with a high water table, this isn’t an issue for helical piles and it provides great support for docks, boathouses, and bridges.

ADAPTABLE, BUT NOT FOR ALL SOIL TYPES

Because helical piles are so adaptable to so many different types of environments, it might be hard to imagine that there are a few instances where helical piles won’t work very well.

For instance, if your home is on a property that has shallow bedrock, then installing helical piles won’t help. If you have a bedrock with a foot or two of soil on top of it, the helical pile cannot get any traction on the soil. In order to install in this type of soil, we’d need to remove the rock underneath, which would be very costly. At GoliathTech we thoroughly examine the soil conditions before starting a project. We want to make sure that the conditions are right and that you don’t break the bank bringing your new project to life.

Over several years, GoliathTech has built a reputation on quality and on finding the best solutions to support your projects.
